Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka who is out of contract in the summer is set to announce his move to Liverpool.
Many teams have been interested in acquiring the German international’s services over the last months.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Juventus have all been linked with a move for the 22-year-old but it seems that Liverpool have won the race for his signature.
According to German newspaper, Bild, Goretzka has decided over a move to Anfield on a free transfer and will announce the transfer in the coming days.
Clubs will be able to hold formal negotiations with Goretzka from January 1. He has scored 18 goals in 127 appearances for Schalke 04.
The report from Bild suggests that Goretzka wants to work with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and will complete his move on July 1.
